Mules and MoreColumbia Mule Days - April 2013
We all had a wonderful time at Columbia Mule Days 2013. Our Mules did us proud. On the Friday nights Gaited mule show, the competition was fierce, and with a large turnout, It was exciting, and the weather was just right, even though it got a bit nipy later on, John Campbell Law our 2yr old Tennessee Walking Mule tied for 2 second place ribbons for his first time out that was awesome. Hawkeye placed each time in the Gaited mule diivisions. Jesse and I were in the ribbons in every class. Agatha my Western mule, won the halter on the Sunday morning....and Yes... I won the Costume In the Mule Day Parade on the Saturday morning. What a great weekend! See you all at the Mule & Donkey Celebration in July in Shelbyville..

Hawkeye and John Law with Jesse Martin AGMA Championship Show - Nov 17, 2012Featured here is Buddy Love the mule owned and trained by Robert Kidd, at the Fall the AGMA CHampionship Show held at Clearview on Nov 17. It was a great turnout, and many thanks to the organisers and sponsors and Janice and Jerry Higgins and Marti and Lorri Gordon for all their hard work in making it such a success. Mule Celebration 2012We all had a great time at the mule celebration 2012. Hanna and Charlotte are visiting with us from England. They are Equine students from Reaseheath college, and had never had any contact with mules. Hanna and our paint mule Nellie hit it off right away, and Charlotte and Agatha, went on to win a 2nd in the FIgure 8 race out of 12. I was showing her videos on You Tube, of what a figure 8 race actually was , as in England they have never heard of it. and its soo much fun!

Third consecutive year Champ for Violet. AGMA Champion 2011, Hawkeye and Marie![]() I bought Hawkeye exactly a year ago at the Mule Celebration show in 2010. A very nice guy was riding him around the barns with a FOR SALE sign stuck to his butt!! We could hear his clippity clop on the road and figured there was a gait in there somewhere. So we took a chance! He was a puny 2yr old, green broke. We worked hard at giving him groceries and getting him trained and most importantly bringing his fitness level up to par, and finally, a full year later, he wins a Championship in a class of 16, at the Mule Celebration here in Shelbyville, we are so proud. Hawkeye also got a 2nd the night before with our resident trainer Tyler Herndon in a class of 22! Not only that, he is great on trails too!
