Horses & Mules for Sale
All the horses and mules that we are offering for sale are show quality animals. That means that they
have been well trained, hauled to shows and, competed, consequently, that makes them good and
broke and respectful and friendly. They have been used to the hustle and bustle of a busy farm and
the trail riding in the woods. Some may have nobs and buttons that you won’t need! For example,
Buckwheat, our saddle mule, can spin and slide like a reiner. We will be showing him in the reining
division at the Mule Celebration this year. You may never need some of the training we have put on
our horses, but mark my words, they are better for it.
This is reflected in the price. Training takes time, not just 30 days, we are talking between one and
2 years of solid horsemanship. It is a constant…! But they are now available for sale, we have
more we need to bring on, its our job and we love doing it. And there is nothing nicer than
matching up one of our horses or mules with their new partner.
We can help you learn your new buddy! Come for a few lessons, come show with us, or just take
him home and saddle on!
Call us to arrange an appointment. Please, make sure you are serious (no tire kickers please!) and
that you can afford a), to buy him and b) care for them.
Agatha Molly Mule – $8,500
Agatha is the most stunning and talented all around mule ever. A Western Dressage Champion. She is push button, she can side pass, lopes on the correct lead, you name it Agatha can do it. She is first to the gate. She Loads/bathes/clips/farrier easily, she is a real professional. She is subtle and light to ride. A beautiful lope and a comfortable trot trained with leg cues and voice commands. Neck reins and she can even do a gentle reining pattern with slow and accurate spins! Agatha and I have been a good team for along time. I hate to sell her but we are downsizing. Eye catching in the show pen or on the trails. She rides out alone fine, she is not herd bound, but she gets on well with others. For some reason she is low on the totem pole in the field with other horses, as she is last in line to eat. She loves to be out trail riding, she has also shown in the Stock mule shows and won in trail, the pleasure classes and reining with a simple flying change.. I also ride her English a lot. DOB 2003.
Reno – Ranch Riding AQHA Show Gelding “This Will Be The Day” – $12,500
Proven Show Horse, Reno Regd name “This WIll Be The Day”, is a talented all around competitor. Originally
trained and ridden by Ted and Tucker Robinson, I bought him from them as a 3yr old at the snaffle bit
Futurity in Reno in 2009. Hence his name! Out of Smart Zanolena (Smart Chic Olena) and dam: Chex out
this Day (Peppy Badger Chex). For the savvy non pro/amateur Reno can be a 70 scoring reiner, plusses his
manoeuvers in the ranch horse pleasure. At the Novice World Championship show in Lexington, Virginia,
this year with a 5th place and a score of 216 out of 29 entries. He has his NRHA License and American
Ranch Horse Licence, and American Stock Horse License. He has won the all around Stock horse hi point
in 2011, and 2012. Doing the cow classes, trail, reining and pleasure. He was successfully shown at the
American Ranch Horse World show in 2013, placing in the top 5, and reserve champion in the reining.
He is friendly, easy to catch, load, a real professional. He is good on cows and cuts one fine, and has been
down the fence numerous times. He is particularly good in the AQHA ranch riding as he is so responsive
to subtle cues. We have won many classes, titles, too numerous to mention. He is sound, sensible and
steady. If you know how to ride such a horse, he does not need “training” ! He is trained. good ,solid and
broke, I just keep him fit, keep him legged up, and pull him out of the field and go show. For NRHA, he
would be ideal for a Rookie or novice. We have also done Showmanship, he is good at that too, as he picks
up on things really quickly! We have enjoyed many things together, he is so easy and funny, and he loves
going to Clinics! He is a real gentleman. $12,500
Pete Snow – Appaloosa Gelding, 8yr old Registered “Alias Royal Snow” – $6,500
PeteSnow is a smart all rounder. He is gentle, friendly, easy to catch and well trained. He rides on a loose rein if you are ambling through the woods or if you take up the slack, he will frame up nicely. He has been hauled to Ranch Shows, Western Dressage shows, Appaloosa shows! he has done it all. He loves being out on the farm, herding the cows. He is unhurried and intelligent. He makes you feel safe. He would NOT be suitable for games, barrels or poles or jumping as he is unhurried and steady by nature. He does not like going particularly fast. His lope is comfortable and really smooth and his trot is rhythmic and cadenced. He would be tolerant of a novice rider, but he probably has too many nobs and buttons for a complete beginner. He side passes, picks up the correct lead departure, slow spins, neck reins, turn on the forehand, etc all the maneuvers of a well trained show horse.
A delight to ride, honest as they come, versatile and friendly. A true gentleman. Laid back, and gentle.
He would not be suitable for games, barrels or poles, as he is not fast and its not in his nature. He is steady,
mature and well trained. $6500 obo
