October 2016 Newsletter

Happy Halloween, friends! We hope you have had a wonderful weekend carving pumpkins, dressing up in awesome costumes, and of course enjoying this gorgeous fall weather with your horse or mule! October was an amazing month, with two excellent clinics and plenty of farm guests, so keep on reading for the full highlight reel!

Wanted: Like-Minded Horse Trainers to Join the Clearview Family!

By the end of November, we will be done with hosting horse shows for the season and will have over 50 stalls in the show barn available to one or more trainers at very reasonable rates on a strictly do-it-yourself basis. We are looking for good people, preferably Western, who can be part of the happy expanding family here at Clearview. The show barn offers wonderful amenities, including spacious stalls, cross-ties, and wash areas. Two on-site apartments will also be available for rent.

Our show barn has high-quality, roomy stalls ideal for a trainer with multiple horses.

If you’re looking for long-term boarding for multiple horses for training as well as living quarters, give us a call at 931-619-0773 to discuss pricing!

Word in the Herd

Our horses and mules absolutely love this cooler fall weather, and we’ve enjoyed having guests come to the farm for trail riding. In fact, we kicked off the month of October with an all-mule ride!

We had a little impromptu mule celebration with this fun group!

In some ways, this month has felt like an extension of summer, as the weather has still been warm enough to enjoy water-based activities as well. We have a sizable pond next to the office, and it’s a great place to launch a kayak for some relaxation on a warm afternoon. JT and Tyler took a break from mucking stalls to do just that!

When you need a break from farm chores, why not go kayaking?

Western Dressage Worlds

Don Charest recently hit the road for Oklahoma and the Western Dressage Worlds show. He and Glinnie got high point 6th place. Well done to both of them!

Tennessee Stock Horse Show

Back on the home front, we had two well-attended clinics. First, our good friend Brandi hosted yet another wonderful Tennessee Stock Horse clinic and schooling show. These events are always great fun and welcoming to multiple breeds and levels of experience. Make sure to check out their website to see when their next show will take place!

Buck Brannaman Clinic

However, the highlight of the month was definitely the Buck Brannaman Clinic. We had a huge influx of visitors to attend the clinic, board their horses, and audit, but we had lots of great help to ensure that things ran smoothly. Heather and her horse Jingaling were on patrol Wednesday to help check in attendees and get them settled.

Heather and Angie also worked the concession stand to sell snacks and drinks.

Thank you so much to all our hard-working horse friends!

The indoor arena was packed with a full class of clinic attendees to work on their horsemanship with Buck Brannaman. In between classes, another crew of people ran the tractor to keep the arena in good working shape for the large number of people and horses.

Talk about a full house! Buck's clinic sold out months in advance.

Fortunately, folks that couldn’t take the clinic could still audit on a daily basis and take photos and notes to apply to their own riding. The stands were packed, and people kept bringing lawn chairs to fill up any available space.

The auditors easily outnumbered the clinic attendees!

Overall, the week was easily one of our most successful clinics, and we were honored to host Buck Brannaman at Clearview! Hopefully we’ll see him again! In the meantime, check out Buck’s website to find his full clinic schedule!

Equines and Services for Sale

Corona Extra Chex Stud Service – $850

Corona makes new friends wherever he goes.

Corona makes new friends wherever he goes.

Corona Extra Chex, son of Nu Chex to Cash, is standing at stud at Clearview, and you could not ask for a more personable stallion to sire your next foal. He’s extremely “honest,” in that you never have to worry about guessing his moods before a show or change classes at the last minute. And when he’s not cleaning house in the show ring or training, he has a gelding as a pasture buddy, enjoys his leisure time, and gets along great with other horses on trail rides. In fact, he’s so laid back that people who have never met him are often shocked to learn that he’s a stallion!

Diego, 5 year old gaited flashy TWH gelding – $2500 OBO

Diego is a flashy, sure-footed trail horse perfect for an advanced beginner!

Diego is a flashy, sure-footed trail horse perfect for an advanced beginner!

Diego is a 14.2 hand chestnut and white spotted TWH gelding, solid broke and fun trail horse for the advanced beginner rider! We have taken him trail riding numerous amounts of times. He will lead or follow and also rides out on his own just fine. His gait is as smooth as silk and will go all day long, anywhere you point he will go. He is sure-footed and will go through water, over logs, and over bridges. He is up to date on all shots, vaccinations, and Coggins and good for the farrier. The only reason for sale is we are reducing stock, so Diego is ready and eagerly looking for his next trail buddy! He does well at all the local fun shows due to his eye catching appearance and solid gait. Click this link for more photos and a video! http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-1059309
