We’re coming up on the end of May, and that means summer is just around the corner! We hope everyone had a wonderful end of the school year (for those of you with kids) and a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. We’ve certainly stayed busy around the farm, so here’s just a glimpse of the highlights!
Special Feature – Baby Slide is growing up fast!
Remember that gangly little newborn foal from a few short weeks ago? Well, Baby Slide is growing by leaps and bounds, and at just over a month old, she’s already turning into a stunner just like her mama!
It’s amazing how quickly they fill out in such a short time. Here’s Baby Slide at one day:
And now at one month:
They love hanging out in the fields now and come up to the fence to greet friendly faces.

Memorial Day Weekend Photography
We had plenty of visitors, bed and breakfasts guests, and regulars over Memorial Day weekend, including one very talented photographer! We were delighted to have Jennifer Raddatz visit and spend the weekend wandering the farm taking photos. She was kind enough to share a few of her favorites. If you like her work, be sure to check out her Facebook page – JLR Photography-I Said Cheese.
The farm looks gorgeous in black and white:
And this final photo perfectly captures the relationship between human and horse:
For those of you living on farms, this is the time of year when you’re probably harvesting and baling hay. But if you don’t own your own baling equipment and want to save money on labor costs, Clearview owns both a round and a square hay baler. We frequently partner with other land owners who want their land tidied or don’t need all of the hay bales. In exchange for a share of the hay, we’ll harvest and bale it for free! Feel free to contact us via the website, Facebook, or phone if you’ve got more hay than you need. We use it to feed our rescue horses and regular riding horses.
Speaking of rescue horses, we’ve got an update on Miracle and Tiara!
Remember Miracle, the half-starved Haflinger who still loved attention?
Well you would hardly recognize her now!
Miracle is quickly filling out and making friends with the farm’s jennets. She’s also starting on some basic ground work and doing really well!
And now let’s check on Tiara, the sassy Appaloosa mare who was recently measured for POA registration.
She now rules in her field and is also gaining weight and filling out.
Both mares have more progress to make, but we’re delighted with how they are recovering and will keep bringing you more updates on their health and training.
AQHA Lucky 7 Show
We had a great time in Murfreesboro May 6-7th for the American Quarter Horse Association Lucky 7 Show. We brought six horses, including Corona Extra Chex, Reno, Magic (aka, I’m a Majestic Leaguer), and newcomer George.
Don Charest showed George in the green pleasure class out of a group of 34 entries.
We spent some downtime checking out the grounds, shopping, and helping out in the hospitality tent for lunch.
And Marie celebrated her birthday in the most appropriate manner – on horseback! She and Reno won a circuit championship in Western reining and the high point trophy in both reining and ranch riding.
And Corona won the Open Reining with Josh Foster, who’s now part-time assistant trainer to Don. Overall, it was a fantastic show for Team Clearview!
Carol Coppinger Parelli Super Clinic
We were thrilled to have Carol Coppinger share her expertise in the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Program in a weeklong clinic. Plenty of horse owners came out to learn new techniques and methods for training their horses, and judging from the photos, everyone had a blast!
For more information on Carol Coppinger and Parelli Natural Horsemanship, check out her website.
Clinics also sometimes provide a sort of matchmaking service between horses and their new owners, as you’ll see in the next section…
Equines and Services for Sale
Glowing Assets – SOLD!
Cindy, one of the attendees of the Coppinger Clinic, leased Glowing Assets for the week and did a wonderful job. Over the course of the clinic, she also ended up introducing him to his new owner Tony! Glow now has a new home with Tony and his family in Pennsylvania, and we could not be happier for everyone!
Hawkeye – SOLD (Update!)
We also recently sold one of our mules, and Hawkeye’s new mom just sent us this photo while on a trail ride. Excellent picture! Glad to see that everyone is getting along!
Tinker Belle – $2500 OBO
Tinker Belle is an 8 year old POA-registered pony ideal for a child or small adult. She’s got a sweet, patient temperament and is great for games, poles, barrel racing, and trail riding. She has also showed excellently in recent POA shows and has the potential to succeed in just about any discipline you want!
Corona Extra Chex Stud Service – $850
Here’s also a friendly reminder that Charlie Hutton’s all-star Palomino stallion Corona is available for stud service at Clearview. We just saw Corona win a circuit championship at the AQHA Lucky 7 Show, and he can pass along plenty of intelligence and potential to your foals. If you want the benefits of a stellar bloodline and the expertise of Charlie Hutton, world-renowned breeder and trainer, contact Clearview today to come meet Corona!
